13th February 2025 Meet the Team: William Charlesworth Share Meet The Citipost Global Team – An Interview with William Charlesworth Q: Can you introduce yourself and share your current role in the company? My name is Will Charlesworth, and I wear many hats at Citipost Global. I’m involved in product development, operations, account management, and business development. My role is dynamic and multifaceted, allowing me to contribute to various areas of the business. Whether it’s refining our existing services, fostering client relationships, or identifying opportunities for growth, I’m passionate about ensuring that Citipost Global remains at the forefront of international distribution and logistics. Q: How long have you been with the company, and what brought you here? I’ve been with Citipost Global for seven and a half years, but my connection to the company started long before that. I was in and around the Citipost offices from a young age and even completed my work experience at Citipost as a teenager. Q: What are your main responsibilities in delivering the Velociti service? Velociti has been an incredibly exciting project for me. I’ve been deeply involved in its development from its infancy – it was born from us wanting to find a solution to the challenges our clients face when sending international mail. The Velociti project has allowed us to innovate a proactive, all-encompassing solution to address many of these issues, which is something that we are really proud of. I have also played a key role in rebranding our company from Citipost International to Citipost Global – watching the new brand come to life has been a really proud moment for me and one of the best in my career to date. I feel that the new identity really represents the company’s growth and maturity in the international mail market. Q: What’s your professional background, and how did it prepare you for your current role? I’ve worked at Citipost Global throughout my professional career, gaining experience across various departments. I started in 2017, doing everything from painting walls to sweeping the factory floors, and now here we are in 2025! The hands-on experience across the company has given me an in-depth understanding of how each department operates, and of the complexities and nuances international mail, enabling me to help develop innovative solutions, streamline operations, and guide clients in optimising their global campaigns. Q: What’s been the most rewarding project or achievement in your career so far? The Velociti project has been my most rewarding achievement to date. It’s been incredible to create a product that addresses long-standing challenges clients face when mailing international campaigns. Q: What’s a standout success story that demonstrates the value of Velociti for a client? We already have some major brands using the Velociti service. The service has been so successful in enabling them to stream their overseas marketing campaigns, they’re planning to expand their use of the product to market to even more countries in 2025! By leveraging our expertise in mailing regulations worldwide, alongside our mile-stone tracking solution, these brands have maximised the impact of their marketing campaigns. They can now reliably predict when their campaigns will land, which allows them to optimise international campaigns that have a multi-media mix. Q: Is there a particular aspect of the Velociti service that you feel most proud of? Absolutely—what stands out to me is the power of management information within the Velociti service. This feature offers a transformative solution for businesses managing international mail campaigns by providing visibility into the entire journey of their mail, from dispatch to in-country delivery. This data and management information empowers our clients in several key ways: Monitor Performance: They can identify delays and optimise transit routes to improve efficiency. Enhance Customer Experience: Recipients benefit from accurate delivery timelines, creating a more reliable and transparent experience. Refine Strategies: With detailed data insights, businesses can align their physical mail campaigns with digital outreach, enabling a seamless omnichannel strategy. Seeing how these capabilities help our clients improve their operations and outcomes makes me incredibly proud of what we’ve built with Velociti. Q: How do you stay up-to-date with trends and innovations in international logistics? I read – a lot! In my role, it’s crucial to stay informed about international mailing requirements for each country we mail to, and any changes in regulations or world events that affect these countries. As you can imagine, keeping up with this all countries around the world requires time but it is an integral part of my day to ensure we are always at the forefront of any changes.
